My primary function at Tribeca Film was a publicist pitching and liaising with film media, but I also had opportunities to write synopses and work closely with the marketing team on developing trailers, posters, and other collateral for our releases. Here are a couple examples from releases that were passion projects of mine – and from two movies that couldn't be more different.
Chaos descends upon a quiet town when Roscoe, the pupil of a wizard monk from an ancient race of demons, unknowingly opens a portal that allows an unspeakable evil to travel freely into our world. When three grisly beasts cross into our dimension, the living are possessed and the dead rise to destroy everything in their path. Armed with demons’ magic, Roscoe is the only fighting chance to put an end to their eternal path of destruction. An ode to the DIY creature-feature classics of the 1980’s, THE DEMON’S ROOK is a “gut-flinging monster mash” (Dread Central) that you won’t soon forget.
After a neighborhood tragedy, two young brothers -- nine-year-old Tommy (Ryan Jones) and 14-year-old Eric (Nathan Varnson) -- confront changing relationships, the mystery of nature, and their own mortality. A dreamlike portrait of adolescence unfolding over one hot, hazy summer, HIDE YOUR SMILING FACES is a startling debut, exploring rural American life through the distorted lens of youth.
